Mood: [ Left Blank ]
I just woke up; it’s 5am in the lab.
The cake is still here; the candle melted down and burned some of the icing, but it’s still salvageable so I can pass it out tomorrow. The portal is still as cold as I left it; I shouldn’t be surprised, but somehow I am.
I left the present on the stairsteps down from the gate. Maybe if I forget about it, when I come back it’ll be gone. Childish logic seems to work for everything else.
I guess I should go home; wishful thinking has gotten me nowhere, and today is a new day.
