“D-Danny!” Chris looks pleasantly surprised; he actually lifts out of his chair a bit! “It’s so good to hear from you — how have you been?”

He pauses though, looking over his shoulder to the busted Warp Gate. “… F-fat chance of us going anywhere to be frank; I’m still waiting on parts to ship in from a lab out of the country.”

“You better find some way to make it up to me, Chris!” Danny pouted and crossed his arms.

He couldn’t believe this! Years. He waited years for Chris to finish that gate- and offered to help him out in any way. Then, thinking he would finally go to Sonic’s world, with his c-… friend- Chris just ups and goes there without them, and to further urk him, there was now currently no way of getting there.

“What if something tried to hurt you on your way there, or on your way back here? You’d have no help in the field of defense, then.” The younger student bit his lip a bit. The thought of anything hurting Chris made him start to regret not going with him.

Being cornered like this surely wasn’t too pleasant - the ginger tugged at his turtleneck, well, gingerly - he cleared his throat a bit. He didn’t expect to run into Danny today or at all; but he supposed this is what happens when you blog out on your laptop, right? Right. Good job Thorndyke.

“Funny you mention being hurt,” he mutters a bit, but shrugs his shoulders flippantly, trying to play the cool customer. “Look, I’m fine, aren’t I? It all worked out. Honestly the first gate run was supposed to be a test, which is why I didn’t bother asking you along. You’re busy too, and if it didn’t work, I’d feel bad about pulling you away from your job. So, see? I had a reason! Now that I know it works and sends me out proper, you can come next time. … Or we can settle for having lunch together and talk about other things?” He offered with a coy little smile.

“I wouldn’t have mind getting out of work, to go to Sonic’s world.” Danny sighed, unfolding his arms. “We’ve been really rude, and picky, clients lately… and wedding season is coming up.” He almost shuddered at the memories from last year. Spoiled brides and hoity toity customers galore.

The offer for lunch did sound good, about now.

“I’ll protect you, when we go.” The younger adult wrapped an around the redhead’s shoulder. “That destructive attention whore they call Eggman, is there, after all.”

Most awkward chuckle of all time at Eggman being called a destructive attention whore, considering the conversation he was having with Decoe and Bocoe. “I don’t need protecting - I handled myself pretty well against the Metarex!” He swelled with a bit of pride before he noticed the arm around him - queue the blush. “S-so, lunch. Chinese sound okay, or is that too pedestrian for you?” He smirks a bit.

“…. Decoe? Bocoe?” Chris blinks a few times. ((THE INTERNET IS A MARVELOUS TOOL AND CHRIS LOVES IT.)) “Geez, I wonder who all I can contact now, this computer is great, haha!”

He smiles though and shrugs. “I can’t really get anywhere - I’d be more than happy to see you two again, surely, but… Eggman’s apprentice? I dunno.” He seems to be earnestly giving it a thought - surely the insane scientist could use some more capable hands. “I’d love to just… You know.” He shrugs with a bashful smile. “I guess I’m on Sonic’s side, even now. Won’t stop me from rooting for you two to at least get basic job benefits, though.”

The two robots looked at each other for a brief moment. They were a little surprised the boy- or they guessed man at this point, actually wanted anything to do with them.

“Are you sure?” Decoe asked, “You have allot of potential. We’re sure Eggman thinks the same thing about you, too.” The two certainly thought that about the lad. “And if you were already able to pull off such a scientific feet in just six years; imagine what else you could accomplish, if the doctor recruited you. With his near endless resources, there’s no telling how high you could excel, and what more you could achieve.” (Where the hell is Eggman getting his resources, anyway!?)

Bocoe nodded in agreement. “Bokkun still wants you to be his little minion, too.” Truthfully, both Decoe and Bocoe had grown fond of Chris. He was kind of the only adversary who was kind towards them, the more they interacted with him- aside from that time them and their boss made an alliance with the Metarex.

“We could help you get that transportation gate working, again.” the gold robot offered. His counterpart immediately agreed with the idea. “If we were able to contact to contact your planet, then finding an alternate route here, outside of using the Master Emerald, is more than a possibility. It’s just a matter of finding it, first.  Establishing a connection shouldn’t be difficult, after that.”

( Eggman gets his resources from Costco. Along with fishsticks in bulk. AW YEEYUH. )

Eggman thought highly of him? Chris lifted his brows, blinking a handful of times before coming back down to earth, lips flattening a bit. The robots thought of him too? He reclined in his chair, waiting for a few to reply, feeling melancholy all over again; going home was for the better, but at the same time…

“I dunno about becoming anyone’s ‘little minion’. Especially when I could probably use them as a basketball.” He finally brings himself to speak with a smile. “I’m sure Bokkun means well - I just don’t think he’d be a very… capable leader.” A smirk. “Like I said before, I’m not too keen about working for Eggman; I understand he’s not a bad guy, I guess, but at the same time he’s pretty shady and I don’t like the way he handles disagreements. … Sonic isn’t stellar at that either though, so I guess I’m growing more neutral the more I think about it - but that’s… not the point.” He chuckles, but gives their offer a more sincere thought. “Though if I were to take your help with the gate, I could at least, uh, v-visit…” The thought obviously excites him a bit - plus he could get Danny off of his back.

“W-well, uh, I guess it’s worth a shot. Once the parts I need come in, I should have a game plan ready for us; we can probably use a basic ping system, and…” He trails off for a moment after mentioning using the pings to pinpoint specific locations; he branches off into yacking about the possibility of Chaos emeralds on Earth for a few minutes before his computer makes a sound, catching him and forcing him out of his babbling. “… I g-got a little carried away b-but! It sounds great. If you two are willing to help, maybe I have a chance of getting there.”

Do you miss Sonic

Chris exhales a bit, leaning back in his office chair. “Yeah. Though I’m kind of miffed at him leaving as suddenly as he did, without word - I know I should be considering he may not have had a choice, given how suddenly he appeared, but… tch. I miss him a lot. I’m honestly a little afraid I scared him off.” He scratches his head. “Oh well, though. He’ll come back, and if not, we’ll eventually see each other again - I can scold him right proper for worrying me then.”

Perhaps this will reach you or not; not entirely sure what kind of network G.U.N. uses.

Any who, hope life has treated you well since our departure.

Honestly I sat here for a while thinking of a thousand ways this could be a trick…

I assure you Chris, this is the one and only Ultimate Lifeform. I’m appalled by the fact so many ‘fakes’ have approached you. I’m proud that you’ve learned not everything is what it seems.

…Wheres my coffee, aah here we are.

So it seems I let…how did Sonic call it..ah, the cat of the bag about my current location. You always were a smart child. But yes, I’m here once more on your Planet Earth. I cannot explain to you exactly how I got here, I can only say that an old dog has learned new tricks.

In regards to your missing Blur, I’m not surprised. He’s always been bad about staying in one place for too long. I can’t say I’ve heard from him in quite some time, hm. Forgive me for not being of any help on that subject.

…Don’t concern yourself on my well being, boy. That makes it sound like I’m weak.….Err, sorry. Been working on ceasing the urge to snap at others like that, heh. But yes, since my return on this rock you live on, G.U.N. has treated me like they owe me an apology. Odd. Perhaps you should pay a visit to this Loft I’ve been given, and we can chat about what all I’ve missed?

I’m not surprised he’s gone missing. He’s always been like that, you’re right -

Thankfully due to my work I have minor G.U.N clearance. I’m sure if you put in a word getting in wouldn’t be too hard - if you send me a rough location of where you are, it won’t be hard to find it, either - they like larger buildings, considering.

Don’t think my concern is implying you’re weak, either; depending on where you’ve been, seven (jeez, seven…) years have passed since I’ve seen you lot on this planet. … Almost eight, actually - when I last visited Mobius was almost two years ago, jeez… My point is time changes people - I know on Mobius it’s only been seven or eight months, so I guess the question does seem kinda silly, in hindsight. Sorry about that.

I don’t mean to dwell on myself - time is just… interesting, in a sort of depressing way; I have some free time given I’m waiting on parts. I’m looking at a three week manufacturing and shipping time gap - so it’s not like I’m doing anything important. Given the specs I can get there relatively soon; being able to drive is a pretty nice perk, I’ll argue.

(( Location not actually needed for the sake of us moving this along, too. <3 Just imply Shadow sent it and we’ll be golden, unless you wanna. XD ))
